ALEXANDER VOLLMER 35 prizes awarded from July 1st, 2024 to July 1st 2025 1st place: $300 CASH and Rosewood Mantel Clock Alexander Vollmer, a ninth-grade student at Lakeside School, began his piano studies at the age of nine. In just a few short years, his extraordinary talent and unwavering dedication have propelled him to the forefront of the national and international piano competition scene. Alexander’s accolades include First Prize in the 2022 American Virtuoso International Music Competition, Absolute First Prize and the Overall Poetic Interpretation Special Prize in the 2023 UK International Music Competition, Gold Medal and Grand Prix Gold Medal at the 2024 and 2025 Chopin Northwest Piano Competitions, Bronze Medal in the 2024 Piano Star International Competition, and Third Place in the 2024 Elevato International Youth Piano Competition. He is a two-time recipient of Distinguished Gold Medals from the SIPC Classical Viennese Festival (2022 & 2023), and has earned Double Platinum Medals at the 2024 Pacific Northwest Piano Competition. In the 2024 RCMFS Competition, Alexander was awarded dual Grand Prix titles in both the solo and concerto divisions and Gold Medal in the Chamber Music division. In recognition of his artistry, Alexander was invited to perform with the Bellevue Symphony and the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra, following his wins in their respective concerto competitions. He is the 2024 MTNA Washington State Senior Piano Duet Winner, MTNA Regional Senior Piano Duet Winner and a two-time WSMTA State Recitalist. As a passionate ensemble player, Alexander has also collaborated with the Eastside Symphony, TMC Orchestra, and Mukilteo Community Orchestra. He has appeared on prestigious stages including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn, Germany. In 2023, he was accepted into the highly selective Seattle Piano Institute, further advancing his musical studies. Since 2021, Alexander has been studying under the guidance of Allan Park, whose mentorship continues to shape his musical growth and artistic voice. |
